To acquire  Free Miner Certificate.

 

Go directly to the nearest British Columbia Government Agents Office, there you will be able to register and receive you BCeID,  (British Columbia electronic Identification Number) this you will need to apply for your FMC (Free Miners Certificate)

 

 An individual, a corporation or a partnership, must hold a valid Free Miner Certificate (FMC) in order to register a mineral title in their name, acquire a mineral title through completion of a Bill of Sale or, record exploration and development work or a payment instead of exploration and development work on that person’s claim.

To acquire or renew a FMC, a person must meet the following qualifications:

 

INDIVIDUAL: You must be 18 years of age or older and ordinarily a resident of Canada for not less than 183 days in each calendar year, or be authorized by the federal government of Canada to work in Canada (proof of authorization must be provided). A Canadian citizen, regardless of where he/she resides, is authorized to work in Canada by virtue of their citizenship.

 

SENIOR: You must be 65 years of age and have the same qualifications as an individual.

CORPORATION: The corporation must be registered provincially or extra-provincially under the Business Corporations Act of British Columbia, or be a trust company registered under the Financial Institutions Act of British Columbia , an insurer licensed under the Insurance Act of British Columbia, or a chartered bank.

 

PARTNERSHIP: The partners must be individual and/or corporate persons that meet the respective requirements above and the partnership must be registered in British Columbia under the Partnership Act.

 

A FMC is valid for a period of 12 months from the date of issuance, the fee for a FMC is $25.00

FMC for a senior is Free

Corporation is $500.00

Individual Partnership $25.00 per individual partners

Corporation Partnership $500.00 

 

A Free Miner Certificate (FMC) gives you the right to:

· acquire and maintain mineral and placer title;

· access your title during exploration and development.

 

A FMC does not authorize you:

· to use a FMC for purposes other than activities directly related to mineral or placer exploration and mining;

· to use your title for residential or recreational purposes;

· to place any structure (cabin, greenhouse, garbage) on your title;

· to conduct any mining activity (exploration, road building) without approval from a Regional Mines Office;

· to hunt, fish or acquire or carry a firearm.

 

ANY OF THESE MAY RESULT IN THE CANCELLATION OF THE TITLE AND FMC AS PER THE ACT
